What to Expect at the 2023 F1 Belgian Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton snatched a surprise pole position in Hungary when he put his Mercedes in first place by just 0.003 seconds over Max Verstappen.
However, at the start, Hamilton made a poor getaway and was quickly swallowed up by Verstappen and Oscar Piastri. “Sorry about that, guys.” A disappointed Hamilton got on the radio to apologize to his team, but the race went on and the seven-time World Champion had to continue his fight.
Max Verstappen brought his Red Bull home to break the record for most consecutive wins by a constructor — Red Bull now has 12 wins in a row, breaking the record of 11 set by McLaren.
Lando Norris charged on to finish in second place, and Sergio Perez came back from 9th place on the grid to finish in third. Checo put up a great fight, pulling off some breathtaking overtakes and winning the Driver of the Day award.

Red Bull’s advantage dissipating
Although Red Bull has taken another victory, they might not be so dominant for long. McLaren seems to be rising to the challenge. Both Norris and Piastri were in the fight early on, and they look eager to start winning races in the near future.
Hamilton’s pole position is also a clear sign that other teams are fighting back. However, it’s important to remember that the Hungaroring was the worst track for Red Bull on paper, and it’s also a firm favorite circuit for Hamilton. Nevertheless, we’re seeing some signs of competition building up behind Verstappen.
Spa-Francorchamps awaits
