MotoGP Indonesia 2023: The Title Race is on!
What a race we had in rain-soaked Japan! Jorge Martin held on for yet another victory at Motegi, with Pecco Bagnaia in hot pursuit. The Italian pushed hard behind Martin, but in the end, he could do nothing to get past the Spaniard.
Marc Marquez brought his Honda home in third place — a well-deserved podium for the Spaniard, who is having one of the most difficult seasons of his career. In some sad news, Marquez announced that he’s leaving the Repsol Honda team after 11 incredible years — an iconic pairing that will go down in MotoGP history forever. The Spaniard achieved 6 MotoGP riders titles, 59 wins, and 101 podiums with Honda.
However, all eyes are still on the 2023 World Championship — it’s far from over!
With Martin winning the Japanese Grand Prix, he’s closed the gap to just 3 points now. There’s still plenty of racing to go this season (five rounds, to be exact), but with such a small difference in the championship, it’s all to play for now.
Jorge Martin has been in incredible form, and Bagnaia has been making some mistakes recently — a fraction of the form he was in during the middle stint of the season. Both of these riders are hungry for the title, and they’re going to fight it out until the very last lap of Valencia.
