MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix 2024: What to Expect
Firstly, there are line-up changes for seven teams. Trackhouse Racing joins the grid this year, replacing RNF after several infractions. They’ve got Miguel Oliviera and Raul Fernandez on their Aprilia bikes.
The biggest news of last season was that six-time World Champion Marc Marquez was switching teams. We saw him in his new Gresini racing colors for the first time in preseason testing — and he’s looking as tough to beat as ever. This could be the change he needed to get another shot at the title.
He lines up alongside his brother, which should make for an interesting team dynamic this season. There are a lot of eyes on the Spaniard this year to see if he can turn his poor form around.
Ducati is aiming for a third consecutive title this year. Bagnaia was quick in preseason testing, so he’s been labeled as the early favorite. The picture is never clear until we get into the race weekend though, and we could see surprises this year.
We could also see Martin in contention again this year — Pecco vs. Martin 2.0 is something that fans would love to see. Perhaps the Red Bull KTM boys have a surprise up their sleeves? They certainly ran some insane aerodynamic pieces during preseason testing! Keep your eyes on them this weekend too.
Who do you think will be challenging for the title? Tune in on Sunday to find out!
