What to Expect for UFC Fight Night: Aspinall vs. Tybura
The UFC heads for London this weekend as the O2 Arena is expected to be filled with a riled-up crowd. The main event is a mighty heavyweight bout between local hero Tom Aspinall and Poland’s Marcin Tybura.
Almost exactly a year ago — the last time UFC was in the United Kingdom — Tom Aspinall took on Curtis “Razor” Blaydes in a fight that could have put him in line for the heavyweight title. During that bout, however, Aspinall suffered a major knee injury that put him out of contention for a year.
This weekend marks his return, but he insists that he’s feeling better than ever. Aspinall is eager to take the heavyweight title in the near future despite spending a year on the sidelines. This weekend, he takes on Tybura.
While the 37-year-old Tybura is not as highly ranked “Razor”, he’s still a tough opponent. Tybura has lost just once in his past eight fights, and he’s won two consecutive bouts in the lead-up to Saturday’s Fight Night. On paper, Aspinall has the advantage over Tybura, and it should be a straightforward fight. However, given his severe knee injury and time spent out of the octagon, he could be up for a tough challenge this Saturday.
