India vs. England: What to Expect
India’s come-from-behind win on the last day at Lord’s in London has the team riding a wave of momentum going into Wednesday’s third Test. England’s morale is certainly low after losing by 151 runs too, as they were the heavy favorites to take the lead in the series.
By the second half of the day, Virat Kohli’s India had set a 272-run target after Mohamed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah’s memorable 89-run stand. England is facing further trouble with Mark Wood out injured. Team officials aren’t certain if the top bowler will be able to play in the third Test Wednesday after injuring his right shoulder in a headfirst dive to save a boundary.
India last took home the Test series win in 2007, when the series premiered. England has dominated every series since, with wins in 2011, 2014, and 2018.
