The next F1 Grand Prix will be this weekend, taking place on June 6th in Azerbaijan. As usual, the practice round and qualifiers will take place the days before, on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 June. Max Verstappen managed to overtake Lews Hamilton in the F1 rankings for this season last week by taking 1st place in Monaco. This week, however, the race will be on the Baku City Circuit, a street circuit where Lewis Hamilton won in 2018. Whatever’s going to happen, it’s bound to be a spectacular race!

Note: a lot of the broadcasters in this table require you to have a subscription to a paid streaming service or tv network. If you don’t have one already, it might be hard to come by if you’re not from that specific region. For example, if you want to get a subscription to ESPN from the US, you need to have a US credit card. Luckily, there is a way to watch F1 for free without a subscription: by using a VPN to access free streams in other countries.

Watch the GP of Azerbaijan for Free

Some countries have paid broadcasts, others have free broadcasts. The problem is that you can’t access these free broadcasts if you’re not actually in those countries. However, to check if you’re in the right country, most of the time, the streaming sites only look at your IP address. So if you manage to change your IP address to an IP address of a country where they have free F1 broadcasts, you can actually watch it for free.

That’s where a VPN comes in. A VPN is a tool you can use to easily change your IP address. By connecting to a server in another country, a VPN gives you an IP address that’s from that country. this way, you can access free Formula 1 streams, no matter where you are!

We’ve found a couple of sites that stream the Azerbaijan F1 GP for free and tested these out with a VPN. We’ve made sure that all the streams listed below are streaming the Azerbaijan GP and that they work with a VPN:

If you need a quick guide on how to set up a VPN, check out the next paragraph.

Step-by-Step: Watching Formula 1 For Free With a VPN

First off, you’ll need a VPN. The VPN that we’ve tested all the aforementioned streams with is CyberGhost. CyberGhost is an excellent (and cheap) VPN with a long money-back guarantee. This means that you can use CyberGhost without paying anything by asking for your money back after the event. If you want to check out CyberGhost, click on the orange button below:

Visit CyberGhost

After choosing a VPN, you can simply follow these steps to watch the Azerbaijan GP with a VPN:

  1. Download your chosen VPN.
  2. Install the VPN, start up the software and log in using your login credentials.
  3. Select a server to connect to. For example, if you want to watch the F1 GP in Portuguese, connect to a server in Brazil so you can access the Brazilian channel Band.
  4. Open your browser and go to the right streaming platform. You can use the URLs in the table above.
  5. Enjoy the race!

Note: aside from watching free streams, you can also use the VPN to access streams you have a subscription to if you’re abroad. For example, if you’re currently not in the US, but you have a subscription to ESPN in the US, you can use a VPN to still gain access.
