2023 MotoGP USA Grand Prix: What to Expect
It’s time for the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas! The incredible state-of-the-art Circuit of the Americas hosts this weekend’s race. It’s predicted to be hot and sunny, which will make for some incredible action out on track.
Joan Mir returns to duty this weekend with Stefan Bradl joining him on the Repsol Honda bike. Bradl is providing injury cover for Marc Marquez, who is still recovering from his injuries. Marc Marquez has guided the Repsol Honda bike to victory seven times before at COTA, going undefeated from 2013 to 2018 — it’s a shame that he can’t enjoy this year’s race.
Ducati rider Enea Bastianini, still recovering from his shoulder injury, has also confirmed that he will miss the US Grand Prix this weekend.
Exciting Season Ahead
This could be anyone’s season. We might have seen Ducati and Francesco Bagnaia take victory in the opening round, but the previous race in Argentina proved that it’s certainly not business as usual for the Italians.
Marco Bezecchi took a well-deserved victory that boosted him to the top of the MotoGP standings. The Italian finished four seconds ahead of his next rivals, Johann Zarco and Alex Marquez. It was far from a straightforward race though, with Marquez starting on pole and Bagnaia crashing out of a podium position with eight laps to go.

The Argentinian Grand Prix Sprint race didn’t fail to deliver either. Brad Binder, who started in 15th place, stormed his way through the field to win the Sprint race and take home all 12 points on offer. The riders were aggressive and on the limit in the Sprint, which made it very exciting to watch.
Coupled with the rain, the Argentina Sprint was one for the books, and it shows that there is a lot of promise behind the concept. Although there are still some people who are a bit unsure of the sprint format — fans and riders alike are still divided — it’s certainly gaining more traction with every round.
