2023 MotoGP Indian GP: What to Expect
The San Marino Grand Prix lived up to its expectations — it’s always exciting!
Jorge Martin scored a brilliant double victory as he started working on closing the gap to Pecco Bagnaia. Martin is now much closer in the standings, and he’s brought himself back into the title fight.
He’s cut the gap to Bagnaia from 50 to 36, and he’s looking in good form. Bagnaia, even with his injured leg, battled his way into an incredible third place in the Grand Prix.
Their title rival, Marco Bezzecchi, finished in 2nd place to ensure that his title hopes don’t fizzle out early.

This weekend, the riders head for the Buddh International Circuit. The track was initially built for Formula 1, but MotoGP bikes will take on the circuit as well.
The track has some long straights where the bikes can easily hit top speed. The middle sector is made up of a mixture of long, sweeping bends and right 90-degree corners.
To aid overtaking, there are a few hairpins around, too. The bikes have never raced here before, so it’s going to be incredibly exciting to see how they adapt their riding style to this unique circuit.
The top 3 fight for the title…
With Brad Binder’s crucial mistake at the San Marino Grand Prix, it seems like his title fight is over for this season. He’s now more than 100 points behind Pecco Bagnaia, and it’s unlikely that he’ll leapfrog the three riders ahead of him in the standings.
The fight now comes down to Bagnaia, Martin, and Bezzecchi.
All three of these riders have had spectacular seasons in 2023, but Bagnaia is showing no signs of slowing down. The question is: will the pressure get to the Italian? We’ve seen him make a couple of mistakes recently, but he’s been flawless for most of the season.
Martin has also been in spectacular form recently, and if he keeps up his performances, he definitely has a shot at this year’s championship.
