Still, the 1-point gain will have been welcome as the team tries to recover their standings of the previous week.
Now, the Reds could be facing an even tougher challenge at home to Arsenal. The league-leaders currently hold an 8-point lead over Man City, having played an extra game. An away win for the Gunners will surely boost their sky-high confidence. On the flip side, a loss will narrow the gap at the top of the Premier League, with just eight games left to play.
Can Liverpool Still Qualify for the Champions League?
Can Liverpool still secure a spot in the Champions League? Well, the short answer is yes — but it isn’t going to be easy, and it all comes down to the performance of the rival teams.
Since April began, we’ve seen Liverpool slip by three positions in the Premier League 2023 standings. Their performance this year is worse than in the 2021-2022 season, with four more losses at this point than they suffered in the entire last Premier League season.
